is worried that she heard about Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize through Facebook. Shit, I read it on 4chan.
Credit where credit’s due, though; I am utterly amazed at Bush. A president so terrible that the next guy along gets a Nobel prize simply for not being him.
I don’t know why I bothered subscribing to your RSS feed, I usually get a preview of new posts 30 minutes before on IRC.
Because you love me so much that it’s worth getting it twice!
But Obama is teh awesome D:
I guess I am kinda surprised though… but perhaps they think by giving it too him it will discourage him from starting wars in the future xD
The reasoning I heard (second-hand) is that they “want to support what he’s doing.”
The response to that I heard shortly after was “sweet, can I get a Nobel Prize for my cancer research? I haven’t achieved anything yet but the encouragement would be awesome”.
lol wasn’t worried…it just gave me pause. And a reason to kill time in my LJ.
Ah. Well. I probably should be worried, anyway.
Last I checked, merely being inspiring wasn’t worthy of an award of this caliber.
Last I checked, you were right.
“Credit where credit’s due, though; I am utterly amazed at Bush. A president so terrible that the next guy along gets a Nobel prize simply for not being him.”
This made my day.
Yeah this is pretty much the best comment on the Obama Peace Prize I’ve heard. Figures you’d be the first person I know to actually hit the nail on the head.
How’s that figure? I mean, I love compliments, who doesn’t, but didn’t think my political commentary was particularly good or consistent.
More that nobody else had the balls to mention that he pretty much won the prize by the simple virtue of not being George W Bush.
That coupled with your icon made me momentarily fearful of field blades slicing me to ribbons.
I heard it from my friend while she was on unfunny business and she described it exactly as you did – it’s a prize for not being Bush XD.
Wow you totally hit it on the head with that last sentence. xD
